Pure and simple every time

I'm interested (as are many others) in this business with Jeanette Winterson and the spurious link between homeobullshit and nanobullshit.

Molecules have always been small! Having fewer of them doesn't suddenly mean that it's a different sort of science going on! Anyway, a 1C dilution step is a 10^-2 dilution, and ‘nano’ means 10^-9, an American billionth. Ultrapure ‘18 MΩ’ water has impurities at the level of 0.03 parts per million, which is only about 4C. Water like this needs to be kept recirculating in order to maintain purity, because impurities dissolve into it very quickly from the air or the containers and tubes that it's sitting in. Homeopaths would rather believe that without succussion and intention, the water has nothing in it at all. Apparently this has something to do with the memory of water but I can't see what and this was only supposed to be a short post anyway.
